[News] Hyoyoung's first surgery completed after 4 hours, to be in a cast for at least 5 weeks

Ryu Hyoyoung of the 10-member mixed group Co.ed had her surgery for her broke ankle completed after four hours.A Core Contents Media official said on the 16th, "Yesterday, Hyoyoung was at a hospital in Seoul after receiving a broken ankle and underwent surgery that lasted for over four hours."

Following, "Hyoyoung was diagnosed to have to be in a cast for 8 weeks, and is currently receiving hospital treatment. The time specified for when she will be able to go home has not been decided yet."

The official continued to say, "Hyoyoung is wearing a cast that includes not only her ankle, but her thigh and whole right leg to make sure the healing goes perfectly. It would slow down the healing process otherwise and we're planning to remove the whole cast after at least 5 weeks," he said.

Because of Hyoyoung's injury and surgery on her ankle, the schedule will need to be adjusted for the KBS2TV drama she is in, "Jungle Fish 2." They also will adjust Co.ed's activities.

The official said, "Today we met with the drama producers for a talk about her schedule, we'll specify details next time we meet, but Hyoyoung will be stopping promotions temporarily with Co.ed for now." Hyoyoung plays a model student as the role of Yoo Mi in 'Jungle Fish 2.' Yoo Mi is a rival to Seo Yool, who is played by T-ara's Jiyeon.

Meanwhile, Hyoyoung fell down the stairs last night after rehearsing and suffered injuries along with breaking her ankle. Her injury turned out to be worse than expected and needed surgery.
